INCEPTION TO CONSUMPTION
Welcome to Source and Process. It’s partly photojournalism, partly a blog, partly just a way to connect with people and frame what I’m doing. I’m a photographer who loves food and absolutely needs to know how it gets to us, from end to end. What we eat and drink, who grows it, who harvests it, what happens next, how it’s shipped and where, how we cook it, who we eat it with, who loves it, who hates it, and why — these are threads I want to pull at.
The big ideas here are food and freedom. I want to know about labor conditions, financial flows, environmental impact, and the intricate power dynamics at work in our food systems. These things are just as important as taste and terroir, part of the complete nutritional value of a food or drink.
